The dazzling capital of the Czech Republic, the explorable Prague has fittingly been nicknamed "the City of a Hundred Spires." Halved by the Vltava River and notable for architecture Baroque, Renaissance, and Gothic, visitors will find much to take in here. Stroll Old Town Square, bear witness to Astronomical clock's hourly show, marvel at the immense Prague Castle, and be sure to cross the Charles Bridge, with its continuous alley of Catholic statues. And don't miss the breathtaking stained glass at St. Vitus Cathedral.

When in Prague, a cruise on the picturesque Vltava provides great views of the city from a new perspective. Nightlife is plentiful, with many jazz music venues, clubs and pubs to choose from. Beer has also become a great reason to be in Prague, with excellent regional and microbrewed libations delighting thirsty travelers.

Old Town Square

Located in Prague's Old Town quarter, this historic square has striking and diverse architecture, including the Gothic Church of Our Lady before Týn. Christmas and Easter markets are also held in Old Town Square.

Locals and tourists alike flock to the Old Town area of Prague every year to experience a winter wonderland at the Christmas Market! You will find numerous stalls selling handmade crafts such as lace, glassware, ornaments and jewelry, all perfect for gifts or for decorating your own home. And if you don't have any shopping to do, there is plenty of wonderful local food to sample, such as spit roasted hams or 'Trdelník', a hot sugar coated pastry. Wash it down with a local Czech beer or warm your hands with a cup of spiced mulled wine!

Charles Bridge
You will be hard pressed to find any Prague tours that do not include a trip to Charles Bridge! Crowds here can number in the hundreds at one time and the largest number of recorded tourists on the bridge at once occurred in 1989, when the number was 1562. The bridge is 1600 feet long, so that number represented almost one person per foot!

Prague Castle
This 9th century castle compound has been the seat of power throughout its history, and also to this day, as the Czech President's official office is located inside. A major tourist attraction, this complex draws nearly 2 million visitors each year.
Public Transportation
For a fast, convenient way of getting from Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) to the city center, take the Airport Express bus (AE Express). Bus stops are located outside both Terminals 1 and 2. Buses run every 30 minutes to an hour, from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

In terms of getting around Prague, remember that the city center is compact and walkable (use taxis cautiously due to overcharging). For Prague Metro, trams and buses, your ticket or pass provides unlimited switching between the three.
Witches' Night Parade
This ancient folk event marking the end of winter is a mix of Halloween and May Day. A lantern parade culminating in burning an effigy of a witch are all part of this unusual festival.

100 Years of the French Collection
From 10/17/2023 - 10/17/2026
The "100 Years of the French Collection" event commemorates the centennial of Czechoslovakia's landmark acquisition of French art, initially facilitated by President Tomáš Garrigu Masaryk. This acquisition reflected the deep cultural connection between the young Central European state and France, enriching state art collections with works by iconic artists such as Georges Braque, Paul Cézanne, and Claude Monet. Celebrated by the National Gallery Prague through an international conference and various public events, the collection's masterpieces are prominently displayed in the Trade Fair Palace, with an audio guide available to enhance the visitor experience.
